Israel and Palestine: Would the G-d of Abraham condone today the killing, hurting or placing in harm's way innocent children, even your enemy's?

As I see pictures of injured or dead Israeli and Palestinian children -- all innocent victims who we all had a responsibility to protect -- my heart aches equally.
 
A child does not chose his parents, his ethnicity, race, land / country where his was born or his family's religion, political convictions and moral compass.

Even a child born to a criminal, a terrorist, a radical extremist, racist, xenophobe, antisemite, a heartless occupant or exploitative colonizer, deserves love, peace, protection and an innocent happy childhood without war and terrorist acts that bring death, misery, hunger, thirst, homelessness and lack of medical care, education and safe places to play or pray.

As such, crimes against children (including terrorism, war crimes and crimes against humanity)

- are never justified,
- should not be tolerated,
- must be condemned,
- their perpetrators must be brought to justice and punished to the fullest extent permitted by law and
- every effort has to be made to prevent them.

This is directly applicable

- to Israel's current efforts to bring Hamas terrorists and war criminals to justice (for the atrocities that they committed on and after 10/7/23) and

- to Palestinian militants (Hamas, Hezbollah, Fatah & etc.) for their  indiscriminate missile strikes against Israeli civilians.

If you can't or won't feel any compassion or responsibility for even your enemy's children, then you've lost your moral compass and right to seek G-d's blessing & protection.

Here's my response to David:

"David, so what's better (from a moral-theological point of view) for the mind, body and soul:

- to die as an innocent victim of terrorism, war crimes, crimes against humanity (genocide, ethnic cleansing)

OR

- to live as a perpetrator of war crimes and crimes against humanity, including against unarmed civilian non-combatants, such as the elderly, women and innocent (by definition!) children, even if the perpetration of such crimes was done in revenge against prior terrorist acts and similar crimes?

On 10/7/23 many Hamas militants (not all, per testimony of survivors) committed horrific and unjustifiable terrorist acts, war crimes and crimes against humanity on Israeli soil.

These terrorists and war criminals, as well as their co-conspirators & sponsors (providing material support) deserve to be neutralized, killed (if offering lethal resistance), or captured, tried in a court of law ans sentenced to the highest measure of punishment (the death penalty if available and applicable).

I support Israel 101% in their efforts to bring these Hamas terrorists & war criminals to justice or neutralize them, as long as such anti-terrorist operations do not themselves result in war crimes & crimes against humanity either intentionally or recklessly.   
 
But conducting such an anti-terrorist operation in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Golan Heights, Lebanon, Syria or even Iran does NOT give Israeli forces the right & authority to commit war crimes and crimes against humanity against civilian non-combatants (even if they are family members/relatives of known or suspected terrorists).

If a terrorist hides in or under a building with civilian non-combatants (even if they are his family & relatives) and their presence there is known, this does not give Israel the right or authority to drop a bomb on that building, strike it with a missile or an artillery shell, knowing that such a strike is likely to cause the injury and death of non-combatants.

BTW, calling non-combatants, especially the elderly, women and children unavoidable "collateral damage" or laying the responsibility for their death & injury on the terrorist who chose to hide among or near them does not absolve the anti-terrorist forces of guilt in committing a war crime / crime against humanity through what amounts to excessive use of force -- even if such excessive use of force is justified by the desire to prevent / reduce casualties among the anti-terrorist forces.

#Istandwithisrael - With the good & innocent people of Israel (Jews, Druze, Palestinians and everyone else) in their attempts to live in peace, harmony, freedom, and with equal rights, justice & rule of law for all.  
 
#Israelunderattack - We have a duty to help Israel defend itself (as a country and all of its citizens & residents regardless of religion, ethnicity and race) from wars of aggression, terrorism, war crimes and crimes against humanity.

We also have a duty to oppose and fight in Israel and Palestine (as it not a independent state, but a territory currently controlled / contained / occupied by Israel) any and all forms & expressions of extremism, radicalism, fundamentalism, xenophobia, racism and accompanying discrimination, persecution and all other related human rights violations, crimes against humanity, war crimes and terrorist acts.  

#prayforisrael - I pray that peace, justice, freedom, true democracy and prosperity come to Israel (all of it's inhabitants regardless of religion, ethnicity or race) with G-d's blessings!

WHY are Israeli commandos risking their lives saving their sworn enemy - rescuing wounded Islamic militants from Syria?

This is Greg Krasovsky's Facebook post on the following Daily Mail article

"Saving their sworn enemy: Heartstopping footage shows Israeli commandos rescuing wounded men from Syrian warzone - but WHY are they risking their lives for Islamic militants?"

The United States, other NATO countries, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Israel have been supporting (both openly and covertly) anti-Assad insurgents in Syria, including fundamentalist Islamic groups, Al Qaeda and ISIS (DAESH) supporters.

As they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. In this case, the "good" intentions were overthrowing a dictator who is supported by Iran and Russia (not to mention the majority of Syrian citizens).

So what's the result?

A country destroyed by war, hundreds of thousands killed and a perfect breeding, training & financing opportunity for ISIS, Al Qaeda, Al Nusra and all sorts of other terrorists (sorry, "freedom-fighting 'moderate' insurgents," according to the Defense and State Departments, the White House and U.S. Intelligence Community) who will eventually take their fight to the countries of their enemy -- the infidels living in Europe, US and Israel.

When will this madness stop? Where's the outrage?

Did Assad present a terrorist threat to the U.S. and Europe? Did Saddam Hussein in Iraq until the U.S. invaded under false pretenses in 2003?

No! These secular dictators kept a tight ship in their country against all opposition, especially the armed fundamentalist Islamic variety.

In my humble opinion, if we want to get rid of ISIS and other Al Qaeda related groups in Syria and Iraq, all we have to do is

1. Stay out of those countries -- that means no ground troops, special forces, military advisors and/or bombings without the permission of and coordination with the legitimate governments in these countries, as well as UN Security Council approval;

2. Stop providing political, financial, logistical and military support (both active and passive) to these fundamentalist/radical insurgents

3. Force Turkey to seal the border with Syria and Iraq to stop the transit of these insurgents and their recruits & agents in and out of Turkey.

4. Stop all income to these terrorist groups by eradicating oil exports & purchases (mostly via/in Turkey) and prohibiting suspicious money transfers from Arab & Gulf states.

5. Let the legitimate governments of Syria and Iraq and their state armies eradicate these groups with foreign military support (including from Russia and Iran) provided in compliance with all applicable international law and related UN resolutions.

Am I wrong?

'I work with the Syrians all the time, I see and hear bad things,' he said. 'Many of them said bad words to me, that they are going to kill me, they are going to fight with the Christian community, when they are safe they will fight against Israel.

'They have destroyed churches and Christian communities in Syria. I have to care for them, it is my job. But if I'm sitting with myself, I say no, it is not right for Israel to treat them.'

Asked about the fighters' promises not to fight against Israel in the future, he said: 'I don't trust any one of them. They grew up believing Israel is their enemy, Israel is the devil. You can't change their minds by taking care of them for two weeks.'

Other Israelis are more bitter. In June, two wounded Syrian jihadis were attacked by a lynch-mob while they were being transported to hospital by ambulance. One was beaten to death, while the other suffered serious injuries.

Six weeks later, two members of the Israeli Druze community – an Arabic-speaking people found in Israel and across the Levant – were charged with murder. It emerged that the militants were suspected members of Jabhat al-Nusra, an Al Qaeda affiliate who had attacked Druze villages in Syria.
