The campaign to turn Ukrainians against Russians - When? How? Who's doing it? Who sponsored it? Why? Who benefits?

 

     Hmmm...

I wonder why the past and current Pro-American Ukrainian governments (from 2014 to 2022) restricted personal, economic, cultural, linguistic, religious and even social media interactions & communications of Ukrainians with Russia and Russians, as well as with Ukrainians residing in Crimea, and the self-declared Pro-Russian Donetsk & Luhansk People's Republics (DNR / LNR) in the Donbass region of Eastern Ukraine by

- restricting (prohibiting) airline and railway travel to Russia,

- restricting pedestrian and vehicular to DNR / LNR and Crimea to Ukrainians who either lived there or have a legitimate reason to visit these areas no longer under Ukrainian control,

- Restrictions on Russian citizens visiting Ukraine,

- Restrictions (prohibition) on Russian language TV, Movies, Music, books and newspapers,
 
- Restrictions, fines and prohibitions on the use of Russian language in public and business contexts,
 
- Restrictions & tacit persecution of the Russian Orthodox faith in Ukraine,

- Official legal denial that ethnic Russians were a native ethnic group of modern Ukraine (even those former Russian areas  that were added to Ukraine by Lenin & his Bolsheviks in 1922 just to get enough votes for Ukraine to join the Soviet Union),
 
And this was done with public or tacit American & EU support and even advice & directions.
 
Unless the goal was, like George Orwell competently stated, to breed self-righteousness, fear, hate and suspicion among Ukrainians toward Russians.

But this is what radical nationalists, xenophobes and racists love to do.

Breed fear & hate toward other groups, which eventually leads to ethnic/racial/religious cleansing and war.
 
Is this what America and EU, the self-declared cradles and defenders of Democracy and human rights really want in Ukraine, the geographic center of Europe?

Well, the Russian government certainly became alarmed at what it perceived to be a threat to Russia's National Security, namely a Ukraine

1. with xenophobic anti-Russian laws and policies described above.
 
2. with a cult of glorifying Ukrainian Nazi collaborators and war criminals like Stepan Bandera and his comrades -- on an official government level -- including recognizing them as war heroes, providing them with veteran benefits, naming streets in their name, putting up monuments and incorporating their "heroic" accomplishments into school textbooks and higher education curricula.
 
3. Militarized by NATO, with NATO training bases, NATO instructors, potential set up of NATO member-state military bases and deployment of troops, and aspiring toward NATO membership,  

4. With potential (some say imminent) plans to re-take Crimea and LNR /DNR in Donbass by force., if necessary, as expressed by Ukrainian politicians and even some senior government officials,

5. With radical Ukrainian nationalist anti-Russian policies and neo-Nazi paramilitary groups (like Azov, Aydar, Right Sector, National Corps) working with or embedded in Ukrainian military, police and security forces and committing war crimes., crimes against humanity & other serious human rights violations against the residents of Donbass. from 2014 to 2022 such as

- shelling civilian areas (artillery, mortar, missiles, bombs) and civilian infrastructure including schools & hospitals,
 
- detaining, kidnapping, beating, torturing, raping and murdering (extrajudicial killings) prisoners of war and civilians (including women & children) considered to be Pro-Russian separatists, their supporters, relatives, neighbors, friends or even just colleagues,

- robbing, marauding and burglarizing the local populations in Donbass during deployments,

 
6. With numerous bio-labs funded, set up, supervised and run by U.S. Department of Defense and its contractors doing gain of function research on very deadly pathogens that could be used as bio-weapons against Russia (especially by Ukrainian Radical Nationalists without any moral compunctions or brakes).
 

  Let's take a known deadly disease and make it even more deadlier and/or contagious to humans -- just to see how deadly it can get, so that we can develop treatments and vaccines (which requires animal & human test subjects) against our own self-made artificial creation.

   But don't be alarmed or offended, we're doing it as  purely defensive, preparatory & preventive measure to anticipate our enemies who could develop similar pathogens and use them against us!  
 
   Perhaps someone forgot that this is precisely the reason why most countries signed conventions & treaties outlawing biological and chemical weapons of mass destruction.
 
   But what could go wrong? Lab leaks? Pathogens stolen/taken out of labs by bio-terrorists (remember the 2001 anthrax attacks around Washington DC)? Black flag operations?
   
   After what we've seen with the apparent results of COVD-19 gain of function research (funded by the US NIH via EcoHealth Alliance), who would risk having dual-purpose bio-labs next door or in their own country?

 
7. With politicians (like President Zelensky) expressing the desire to obtain nuclear weapons or the deployment of US/NATO missile systems that could strike deep into Russia and even reach Moscow.

So why are people shocked and surprised that Russia (from a pure cold-blooded geopolitical & national security point of view) decided to take maters into its own hands and launch a limited military invasion of Ukraine ("special military operation") to demilitarize and de-Nazify this country and to protect the residents of Donbass?

What about U.S. with its invasions of Afghanistan in 2001, Iraq in 2003, Libya in 2011 and Syria in 2014?
 
How about Vietnam in 1962? Grenada in 1983? Panama in 1989? Iraq in 1991?

We've digressed.

As I always tell my friends, colleagues, acquaintances and clients who don't live in Russia.

Please come to Russia and ask ordinary people about their attitude toward Ukrainians.

You'll never find the xenophobia, fear, suspicion and hate toward Ukrainians that has infected Ukraine acutely since 2014.
 
Or ask Russians about Americans. You'll get the same response.

Sadly, state and corporate-sponsored Russophobia has done tremendous damage to the minds & souls of people of America, its NATO/EU allies (as well as America's allies in Asia & the Pacific, like South Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand) and Ukraine.

And if not checked, it will lead to nuclear war.

Do we want that?
