Will Smith & Chris Rock -- an age-old distraction for the masses from more pressing issues, like the COVID-19 Pandemic, Russian-Ukrainian military conflict, et al.?

Earlier today, a school classmate and a man of the cloth whose service to fellow man I greatly respect, Rev. S.W.,  made a post about Will Smith's Oscar-night slap of host & comedian Chris Rock over an insensitive GI Jane comment regarding Will's wife with a shaved head for medical reasons (see below).
    
Sidney's not the only one to comment on the current media frenzy over what I consider a non-event.
 
Here's my response -- from a regular guy who happens to be a lawyer but grew up in Ukraine, Russia and the mean streets of Logan in North Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, USA), worked as a police officer, fire-rescue-tech, EMT(paramedic) and got slapped, punched and kicked a good number of times by men and women (who were high, drunk or sober) for no legitimate reasons in private and in public without pressing charges or causing a media circus.   
 
Getting slapped for making an insensitive dumb joke about someone's wife is not the end of the world!

This is not the equivalent of Cain vs. Abel in moral terms.
 
Today we have bigger problems in our society than one or two actors acting like a teenager or a guy in a bar.
 
A slap is just a slap. Especially when it's man on man!
 
A simple slap is unwelcome, often unjustified, somewhat painful but, at the end of the day, not something you create country-wide drama to discuss ad infinitum.  

But this is what separates men from boys -- the ability to

- take a slap like a man without crying or throwing a fit,
- learn your lesson (about what you did to provoke it and how you could have prevented it),
- get over it,
- laugh about it, and
- move on!

Will lost it -- apparently his cup was full to the rim on this issue (his wife) and vs-a-vie Chris Rock -- and took his (and his wife's?) honor & dignity into his hands.

Will apologized, Chris accepted the apology and that should be the end of the story.

But why is Hollywood and America's Mainstream Corporate-owned Media going on and on about this fairly ordinary episode?

Is there a hidden social control agenda / lesson at work aimed at "old-school" (relatively conservative) men who would defend the honor of their wives / women the old-fashioned way instead of appealing to the all-mighty politically correct liberal establishment tribunal that dispenses cancel-culture treatment?

Or is this just another distraction -- just like gladiator bouts in Ancient Rome -- meant to keep the common folk from learning about and discussing more pressing & explosive issues.

So let's think about & discuss more challenging & controversial moral issues that give me concern as an American, Russian, Ukrainian, African (Nigerian) and Jewish father of five children today, such as
 

1. The COVID-19 pandemic, including

- origins of COVID-19 (gain of function research?), 

- prohibition of supposedly effective early treatment protocols, including those using safe vitamins, minerals, and FDA-approved repurposed drugs, and blackballing of their proponents, including top-tier researchers and clinical physicians,

- advocacy and emergency authorization of expensive drugs that can cause kidney failure & fluid build-up in the lungs in up to 25% of patients,

- unprecedented push of experimental mRNA vaccines with a number of safety issues and alarm bells,

-- lack of sufficient animal studies,

-- apparently doctored or withheld data on serious & dangerous complications among test subjects, including pregnant women,

-- ignoring reports and scientific evidence that the COVID-19 Spike protein which the mRNA vaccines cause our cells to produce (apparently in numbers much higher than during a regular COVID-19 infection) causes damage to our health , including through micro-blood clots (and associated tissue & organ damage) and even cellular senescence (premature aging when our bodies order cells that the S-protein comes into contact with not to multiply/reproduce anymore),

-- ignoring reports and scientific evidence that some of the injected mRNA does not stay at the vaccination site, but travels via our blood & lymph circulatory systems to other organs, potentially causing organ damage, 

-- ignoring reported complications among the vaccinated, including, but not limited to, blood clots, central nervous system disorders, autoimmune disorders (incl. Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome), myocarditis (inflammation of heart tissue), blood clots, liver conditions (hepatitis) and increases in old and new cancer growths,

-- ignoring reports and scientific studies which seem to indicate that the vaccinated, when sick with COVID-19 may "shed" (excrete) more contagious virus while breathing (even while having to or mild symptoms) than the non-vaccinated,

-- ignoring scientific evidence that this type of mRNA vaccination (which aims to create antibodies to a particular version of the S-protein and not the whole virus) may cause antibody dependent enhancement (ADE, which could make a patient suffer from COVID-19 even worse than a non-vaccinated patient) and may even increase the number of mutations / variants among populations with high rates of vaccination, 

-- ignoring calls to notify potential and current vaccine recipients that the vaccine will NOT prevent infection (via the virus entry into our bodies through our eyes, nose and mouth and subsequent binding & entry of cells that will produce more virus) but is supposed to make infection milder by having our bodies make antibodies faster -- if we get infected with the strain of COVID-19 which has the particular version of the Spike protein in the vaccine.

-- pushing vaccines to teenagers and minor children while ignoring the extremely low rate of mortality from COVID-19 in these groups vs. possible (likely) rates and severity of potential complications.  

 

 

 

 

 

2. The current Russian-Ukrainian military conflict, including the causes, consequences, costs and solutions (political, military, economic, religious and cultural) to

a. The current "special military operation"in Ukraine by Russia (AKA in Western Press as a military intervention / invasion / war).
 
b. Geopolitical cold war between the United States and its NATO/EU allies against Russia, China and their supporters & allies.

 
such as

i. Cold war & Iron Curtain,

ii. Capitalism vs. Socialism & Communism,

iii. U.S.A. style Democracy vs. Authoritarian/Post-traditional Communist Democracies,
 
iv. Freedom of speech of the press in societies where news media is dominated by state or corporate-owned outlets (controlled by a small number of financial-industrial groups)
 
v. Control of countries and multi-state organizations & federations (e.g. the EU and NATO)

by financial-industrial groups (FIGs), including

- members of the military-industrial complex,
- transnational and foreign FIGs,
- energy companies,
- pharmaceutical companies,
- commercial & investment banks,
- High-tech giants,

through

- politicians,
 

- political parties,

- governments (including key high-ranking elected officials, political appointees and civil servants in the executive, legislative and judicial branches)
 

- key government agencies (military, domestic security & law enforcement, foreign intelligence, finance/treasury/tax, medical, transportation, energy and education)

- ensuring favorable coverage of the country's political system and portrayal to the public through
    -- control of the news press (mainstream and social media)
    -- control of movie, music and book industries

by 

- funding
   -- political parties
   -- political action committees
   -- special interest groups
   -- election campaigns
   -- non-profit organizations,
   -- religious organizations,
   -- targeted advertising in MSM and social media
   -- think tanks, custom studies, research, surveys and polls

- rewarding politicians, civil servants and their families, relatives, loved ones and/or business partners/associates,

-- after their term in office or as a civil servant, as a reward for their loyalty & support while in office,
-- before and in between their political appointments,

by

-- hiring them with favorable above-market (insider) terms in salaries, bonuses, benefits packages and stock options

-- selling them goods and services, including high-value assets (real estate, stock, stock options),

-- providing them debt & equity financing (consumer & business) at favorable terms,

-- paying them exorbitant speaking and consulting fees,

-- providing exorbitant book writing advances and profit shares from book sales,

-- nominating to corporate boards with very high annual compensation and lucrative stock options,

to

 -- obtain lucrative government contracts,
 
 -- reward for passing laws & regulations and executing government decisions/actions/policies favorable to FIGs,
 
 -- ensure that favorable policies are properly executed, monitored and maintained,
 
 -- serve as an example & motivation for future recruits

   

vi. Religion (inc. atheism, & state-favored/sponsored/approved religions)

vii. Globalism,

viii. New World Order,

ix. One world government

x. Population control & reduction ideology & agendas

3. Social-Hate Weapons. The moral depravity, dangers and consequences of ignoring, tolerating, facilitating or aiding & abetting

- nationalism,
- xenophobia,
- racism,
- ethnic intimidation and cleansing,
- religious intolerance, regulation, persecution or favoritism by the state or society,
- fascism, authoritarianism, totalitarianism and even Neo-Nazism

for furthering political, military, economic, social, cultural or even religious & anti-religious (atheist) goals.
   

4. Justifying "limited" use of Weapons of Mass Destruction. The dangers, immorality, legal impermissibility and consequences (health, political, military, economic, cultural and moral), of
 

a. research on the development, delivery and use of low-yield nuclear "tactical" weapons (missiles, bombs and even artillery shells) as an a effective tool in military conflicts (e.g. to penetrate well-protected underground military facilities, storage depots, bomb shelters and command & control centers) that supposedly will avoid wide-spreading radiation damage and full-blown nuclear war (i.e. end of the human race or, in the best case scenario, a return back to the stone age for the surviving less that 1 %).
 
b. research on deadly diseases, dual use biotechnology (civil & military) and biological weapons, including

- gain of function research (i.e. "let's see how much more deadly to humans we can make a viral, bacterial or other disease in a lab so that we can study it, learn how to treat it and make a vaccine"),

- study of delivery mechanisms and military applications  

especially in light of COVID-19 and the U.S. bio-laboratories in Ukraine and Georgia (acknowledged and confirmed in writing by our own Defense and State departments!).
 

5. Introduction and Promotion of LGBTQ to small children. Current discussions and controversies concerning government, corporate, entertainment and educational policies and practices concerning minors and LGBTQ+ community and related issues, such as  

a. Per-pubescent children being placed on hormone suppression therapy (whose long-term effects may not be undone) when they start to have doubts (sometimes induced by society & their peers) about their gender and sexual orientation
    
b. Underage (<18yo) teenagers undergoing irreversible plastic surgery (removal or artificial construction of genitals & breasts) in a attempt to change their biological gender, sometimes against their parents' or legal guardians' wishes.
 
c. Tender-aged children (<10yo) being exposed to, introduced to or even taught (in an academic setting) LGBTQ+ issues, including homosexuality, transgenderism, trans-sexuality and etc,

- in school,
- on TV and in movies (including children's cartoons),
- in popular music
- in children's plays and theater.

   
d. Biological boys and young men who've decided to change their gender identity competing against biological girls and young women in girls & women's athletics (middle school, high school, collegiate and amateur, including international championships and the Olympics) and using their biological anatomical male advantages (whenever applicable) to beat their female competitors.  

 
Obviously, it's easier to discuss & gossip about Chris Rock & Will Smith than touch and discuss these issues -- COVID-19, Ukraine and Russia -- with a ten foot pole!
 
But you know what they say -- sometimes the only way out (e.g. of the swamp) is through it!

Academy Starts Disciplinary Proceedings Against Will Smith, Expulsion on the Table
 
The Academy also claims that the "King Richard" star refused to leave the ceremony after being asked.
Days after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock during the 94th Oscars telecast on Sunday, the Board of Governors held an emergency meeting to discuss the consquences for the best actor winner. He now faces “suspension, expulsion, or other sanctions permitted.”

The statement from the Academy is highly damning, citing the standards of conduct and Smith’s violations of “inappropriate physical contact, abusive or threatening behavior, and compromising the integrity of the Academy.”

Smith, who won the Oscar for best actor for “King Richard” not long after the slap, has been given 15 days notice of a vote regarding his violations and sanctions, and has the opportunity to provide a written response. The next board meeting is scheduled for April 18, when the Academy may take disciplinary action.
